Opening The TrenchThis is a featured page

Hooray! The Site is open! On Saturday, LAARC staff and volunteers opened up a 10m x 15m trench. Having taken off approximately 70cm of soil, some possible features are starting to reveal themselves.

Now it's time to start digging!

Digging can be so much fun, but it is very hard work, good thing the Southwark and Lambeth Archaeological Excavation Committee offered to pay for the hire of a digger, otherwise Museum archaeologists would have still been digging now!
